The new rules, approved in 2023 as part of a broader package but coming into force on February 18, 2027, state that batteries in portable devices must be designed so users can remove and replace them without any specialised tools or assistance. Replacement batteries for any model will have to remain available to users for at least five years after the last unit of the product is placed on the market, the regulation also states.

"Aren't today's phone batteries already replaceable with commercially available tools? I can walk into a non-apple store with my iPhone and walk out with a replaced battery 20 minutes later. This isn't even what drives obsolesce of phones, it's software updates. If you really want"

Introducing ggsql, a grammar of graphics for SQL that lets you describe visualizations directly inside SQL queries Today, we are super excited to announce the alpha-release of ggsql . I prompted ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini and watched my Nginx logs

What nginx logs actually prove about AI traffic from ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, plus why Google's AI crawlers leave a different signal than the others. Last month I wanted a straight answer to a question most AI visibility write-ups dodge. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, or Google AI Mode about a site I own, does that AI product actually fetch the page, or does it answer from an index it built earlier? The way to get a straight answer was the unfashionable one. Read the nginx access log. This post walks through what the logs captured across the five AI products I tested, what they did not capture, and what that difference lets a product safely track. Every claim in the sections that follow is either something the server logged or a structural fact documented by the vendor.
